ASPIRING HIGHER EDUCATION AND PART TIME JOB

ASPIRING HIGHER EDUCATION AND PART-TIME JOB
By Pratikshya Shai

Yes, nowadays many students do a part-time job to meet their expenses. Many students try to find part-time jobs at restaurants, coffee shops, gas stations, supermarkets, and so on. Balancing work and study together is a challenging task for students. It will certainly lead to mental stress. However, students can still cope with the situation by applying time management skills.

Without a doubt, students must pay attention to their studies. However, giving full time to study is a luxury for some students whose parents are financially well off. For the majority of students, this luxury is merely a will-o-the-wisp. They must have to work, and for this, time management is necessary.

Study and work can go together, and a healthy relationship can be established successfully. There is nothing wrong if students work and learn some new skills together. Playing sports, interacting with others, obtaining new knowledge, and learning a new skill are as important as studying.

The world is full of competition. To be fit and capable of meeting competition, one must be equipped with all kinds of necessary skills. Someone who can maintain a healthy work-study relationship will be well prepared to face any worldly challenges. A bookworm may succeed in scoring impressive marks in the exam, but he or she will certainly fail in the exam of real life, where real-life experience is more important than knowledge from books. But, as mentioned earlier, with the help of time management, students can achieve what seems impossible.

Let me come to the main point: it is part-time work for the students. A part-time job does not only help the students financially, but it also helps them gain practical experience. In today’s competitive world, communication skills and effective social networking are considered invaluable assets. Having a degree will not guarantee that one will achieve what one desires in life. Thus, a part-time job can help students earn some money, and at the same time, they will also learn new skills and gain work experience.

Well, a part-time job might have some negative elements attached to it, but the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Let’s not forget that a part-time job ensures financial security for middle-class students. This support cannot be taken for granted, because without steady financial support, no student can pursue higher education, whether at home or abroad.
