SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT TO SAVE THE HUMAN BEIGNS

Image
SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT TO SAVE THE HUMAN BEINGS By Ganesh Bhandari The rapid pace of industrialization and urbanization has taken a heavy toll on the environment. Many concerned people think that the government should be responsible for preventing and minimizing the damage to the environment. In the meantime, many individuals can also make invaluable contributions to protect the surrounding environment of their areas.  The governments have budgets, a workforce, and resources to utilize them for the betterment of the environment. Moreover, the government can also make policies and introduce new laws to restrict those activities, which may have a detrimental effect on the environment. The right use of state power can definitely help the environment to improve.  To understand this phenomenon, I would like to give an example of many countries in the West, which are industrial nations, but at the same time, they have successfully protected their natural environment.  Why...

INTERNAL MIGRATION AND ITS RAMIFICATIONS

Image
INTERNAL MIGRATION AND ITS RAMIFICATIONS By Mamta Ranabhat Pokhara University, Pokhara, Nepal Migration from villages to cities is on the rise in many countries. It has both positive and negative impacts, depending on the existing circumstances of the country.  People migrate from villages to cities for many reasons. They want to get better jobs, higher wages, and access to diverse facilities. Cities are more developed in comparison to villages. This is the reason most people prefer to migrate from villages to nearby cities. By doing this, they want to access more social and economic benefits for their families.  Most of the villages are marred with several problems. These villages are devoid of basic amenities that every citizen of the country should be guaranteed. Most villages do not have electricity, good roads, drinking water, health posts, and so forth. Because of all these reasons, people are forced to leave their villages to find better opportunities in ...

HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT CO-EDUCATION!

Image
HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT CO-EDUCATION! By Hira Thapa Tilottama Secondary School, Butwal, Nepal The popular belief is that both boys and girls should be educated in separate schools. Many parents agree with the single-sex school education system. They don’t endorse co-education for many reasons. Many parents think that co-education will create opportunities for boys and girls to become physical. Due to their growing age, this possibility cannot be ruled out.  Many cases related to promiscuity and early-age pregnancy have been reported in the media. Moreover, many boys and girls develop physical relationships while studying in schools and colleges. Such activities are likely to distract boys and girls from their studies. They will find physical activities more attractive than educational activities.  This is true that girls and boys exhibit different sentiments. These sentiments distinguish boys and girls from each other. Moreover, boys and girls do also have di...

THE STUDY OF ART AS A COMPULSORY SUBJECT

Image
THE STUDY OF ART AS A COMPULSORY SUBJECT By Bibek Bhattarai Sagarmatha Engineering College, Kathmandu, Nepal The study of art in school helps students to perform better in academic subjects. Students need to grow intelligent, and for this, the knowledge of art helps them perfectly. Moreover, the knowledge of art in fact enables students to become multi-skilled.  Art is a different subject. Therefore, it cannot be compared with other subjects like math, English, science, accounting, and so on. The subject art does not only make a student intelligent but also keen to learn any new subject of interest.  Students taking an interest in art invariably score impressive grades in the exam. This is the testimony to the fact that they are more capable than those students who are not interested in art. Scoring good marks in other subjects eventually helps grow their profile and skills. Art-loving students are not only capable of performing better in other subjects; they ar...

Pollution is killing our environment

Image
Pollution is killing our environment By Ganga Maya Pariyar Nowadays, pollution of all kinds has damaged the environment, and it has reached a breaking point. Thus, pollution should be the main subject of discussion in the country. The level of pollution is increasing unabatedly and killing the environment badly. That’s why I think pollution should be the main agenda before the government.  Generally, the main causes of pollution are industrialization, the use of pesticides, and nitrogen-based fertilizers. Moreover, vehicles belch out toxic carbon monoxide that pollutes the air quality and ozone layers. People should be aware of this problem. However, the governments of many countries have not paid adequate attention to mitigate the issue with due seriousness.  The people and government must work hand in hand to tackle the pollution problem. This is the best way to keep our environment neat and clean. Those who do not cooperate and pollute the environment relentles...

RAPID POPULATION GROWTH AND ITS NEGATIVE IMPACTS

Image
RAPID POPULATION GROWTH AND ITS NEGATIVE IMPACTS By Sailendra Godar Sainik Aawashiya Mahavidhyalaya, Phulbari, Pokhara, Nepal The population growth has been constantly soaring up, and now it has reached an alarming level. As a result, people are facing shortages of resources like water, food, and fuel. In my opinion, necessary steps must be taken to put a tab against the rapid population growth rate.  General awareness must be spread among the people for not having more children in the families. Maximum one to two children should be enough to have a happy family. The government should provide more allowances and benefits to those who agree to limit their families up to one issue.  Most poor people living in the villages have limited means of entertainment. The only cheap and anytime available means of entertainment is having physical with their wives. These rural people cannot afford contraceptives, and as a result, they constantly produce more children.  ...

RAPID PACE OF INDUSTRIALIZATION AND ITS IMPACT

Image
RAPID PACE OF INDUSTRIALIZATION AND ITS IMPACT By Anushka Nepali Diamond Secondary School, Talchowk, Pokhara The rapid pace of industrialization and the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides have caused most of the underground water to become arsenic.  Actually, in today’s context, industrialization has become crucial to fulfilling basic needs as well as to performing day-to-day activities. But along with industrialization, the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides has also risen.  Subsequently, industries are being constructed near the residential site and near the water resources, which has caused most of the underground water to become arsenic. This directly affects human health.  Arsenic water always has a detrimental effect on living species. Moreover, water-containing arsenic may also cause various types of diseases, which can threaten the existence of living species.  In order to protect fresh, underground water reservoirs, industr...

How much freedom is too much for the creative artists?

Image
How much freedom is too much for the creative artists? By Nabin Adhikari Pokhara Aadarsha Secondary School, Bagar, Pokhara Creative artists are full of ingenious ideas and precious assets of the country. Freedom plays a key role in the lives of such creative artists. Well, why only artists? Freedom is equally important to all people who carry a creative mind within them. Thus, the birth of creative ideas is only possible if adequate freedom is available for creative artists.  Thus, freedom is something that cannot be compromised in the life of creative artists. Freedom inspires them to move ahead without any fear. No artist can work freely under constant fear and intimidation. If history is observed, it is found that most creative people gave their best during good governance in the country.  However, I completely disagree with the statement that artists should always be given the freedom to express their ideas in every sector. There should be a limit for everythi...
