SPEAKING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

 SPEAKING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

The importance of speaking a foreign language has become more important today than it was in the past. Due to the rapid pace of industrialization and technological boom, the world has shrunk to become a global village. And tourism has become the main mantra for earning hard currencies. So that the national economy can run smoothly.

Most people from China, Japan, Korea, and Europe travel around the world. They spend a huge amount of money on travel. Communication has always been a big issue with the people of these countries. Most of them are unable to communicate in the English language. Thus, attracting more people from these countries can only be possible if we communicate with them in their languages. This need has given birth to the idea of learning a foreign language.

The tourism sector has become one of the main sources of national income in the country. In a situation like this, the study of foreign languages has become even more important. Therefore, my suggestion is that foreign languages be made mandatory in the school curriculum. This will give a huge boost to the tourism sector in Nepal.

Every year, hundreds of thousands of Nepalese people go abroad for employment. Remittances are the fuel that has been running the Nepali economy. The Nepali economy will immediately crumble down as if a house of cards only if remittances are stopped coming to the country. Thus, knowledge of a foreign language will certainly help to communicate with foreigners at home and abroad. This ability will give our people an edge in communicating and doing business with foreigners.
