The pace of technological advancement and its ramifications
The world has made enormous progress in almost every field. Technology has brought a new twist to people's lifestyles and ways of living. The one sector where technological advancement has seen tremendous growth is information technology.
With the rapid pace of information technology, a question arises about what information should be shared and what should not. Some people think that information should be shared for mutual benefit. Whether it is the education sector, economic sector, agricultural sector, tourism sector, and so on and so forth. There are many sectors where information can be shared. This will allow each other to benefit from each other's progress.
Scientists and doctors find remedies for chronic diseases. If the information related to this is shared, then many other countries will benefit. They can develop medicine and help cure the ailing people in their countries. The world has already seen the importance of vaccines against the unbridled COVID-19 virus.
However, every coin has two sides. Many people strongly believe that a few pieces of information can be shared, but not everything. Especially information related to science and development and national security. Nowadays, there is cutthroat competition. Each country is trying hard to outdo the other. National security has been at risk more recently than ever.
The recent Ukraine war is an example. This war is fought based on the superiority of information technology and hypersonic missiles. Until now, Russia seems to have been victorious due to its superior information technology and hypersonic missiles that cannot be intercepted by any country, not even the USA.
