Degradation of environment can doom the entire modern edifice

Environmental problems have gripped many headlines in recent years. Due to human selfishness, the environment has been tremendously influenced. As a result, a large number of species are on the verge of extinction, and the entire biodiversity is at great risk.
The ongoing poaching in many countries cannot be taken for granted. Illegal hunting of some wild animals has pushed them near extinction. Many wild animals, such as rhinos, elephants, black bucks, tigers, and so on, are on the hit list of the poachers. They kill these animals and sell their body parts on the international black market for a high price. Moreover, some animals are killed only to use their body parts for medicinal purposes.
Regular human encroachment on forests has compelled many wild animals to leave their habitats. Such an act of habitat destruction has become the cause of the decline of many creatures. In recent years, deforestation has increased at an alarming rate. Dumping of garbage and factories nearby the forest has not only spread pollution in the area but has also caused water arsenic.
The time has come for the government to wake up and act now, or it will be too late. First, youth at all levels should be educated to save the environment. Strict laws should be brought into effect to stop all kinds of encroachments. Modern technology should be used to recycle garbage. All garbage must be dumped in a proper manner without affecting the environment.
In conclusion, the extinction of species and the loss of biodiversity are serious problems that are primarily caused by poaching and ignorance of environmental issues. I recommend that the government tackle this problem by imposing harsher punishment as a last resort.
