GIVE PRIORITY TO PREVENTIVE MEASURES
By Geeta Baral

Prevention is better than cure is a popular phrase. This is what we read and hear in almost every nook and cranny of the world. If we pay attention to preventive measures, we will not face many problems in the future. Actually, preventive actions reduce the risk of getting diseases and it leads to a happy life.

Prevention is better than cure, which begins with keeping our surrounding environment neat and clean. This action will keep germs, bacteria, and viruses at bay.

Even small habits can be very useful for being healthy. For instance, we should wash our hands before eating a meal. We should also hygienically store our food. They should be properly covered. Fruits should always be eaten after cleaning them. If we want to remain healthy and wealthy, these basic rules should be part of our daily routine.

Food has a direct relationship with our health, because the food we eat always determines the quality of health we will have in life. Thus, no compromise should be made with the quality of foods. Taking a bath every day and keeping our clothes neat and clean are also important practices for living a healthy life.

The truth is, if we are healthy, then we are wealthy too. If we are down with illness, then we cannot enjoy life, no matter how wealthy we are. To enjoy life, we must be healthy first. Thus, no chance should be taken as far as health is concerned.

In conclusion, ‘Prevention is better than cure’ is not only a popular phrase, but this is a universal truth. The government must reach out to poor people to teach them how they can easily get rid of many diseases if they follow preventive habits.
