How much freedom is too much for the creative artists?

Creative artists are full of ingenious ideas and precious assets of the country. Freedom plays a key role in the lives of such creative artists. Well, why only artists? Freedom is equally important to all people who carry a creative mind within them. Thus, the birth of creative ideas is only possible if adequate freedom is available for creative artists.

Thus, freedom is something that cannot be compromised in the life of creative artists. Freedom inspires them to move ahead without any fear. No artist can work freely under constant fear and intimidation. If history is observed, it is found that most creative people gave their best during good governance in the country.

However, I completely disagree with the statement that artists should always be given the freedom to express their ideas in every sector. There should be a limit for everything. If there is no limit on freedom, the freedom is going to be misused for sure. Throughout the world, many instances of the misuse of freedom have become known. If freedom is free from a limit, it is bound to be misused.

Many artists misuse the freedom given to them and misuse this power. Some painters paint objectionable paintings and hurt the sentiments of the people. In the recent past, Fida Hussain, a popular painter of India, painted a naked painting of the goddess Durga. This act of the artist enraged the Hindu society in India. Even in Nepal, many local singers have polluted a popular form of duet songs. Once a very popular form of duet songs in Nepal, now the singers vastly misuse this popular form of duet songs. Through the duet songs, they pass on sensual innuendos and try to arouse the audience. This very act is an example of getting cheap popularity.

Despite such controversies, I still stand in support of artists to receive the utmost freedom. Nevertheless, everything should have limitations. Beyond that limit, everything is bad. This is also true in the case of artists.

In conclusion, freedom is essential in the life of everyone. Artists will find themselves more prolific and productive only if they enjoy a sense of freedom. If they are restricted, their talent and creativity might also be hampered. But at the same time, there should be a demarcation line to understand the limit of freedom in one’s creative life.
