A battle against hunger

Leading experts believe that over 600 million people all over the world will face hunger in 2030. Against this backdrop, it is pledged to make the world free from hunger by 2030. The target is certainly a daunting task indeed. However, the irony is that over the years the technology has improved and more land has been brought under the plow, but hunger still persists.
According to the latest available data in 2024, about 8.2% of the global population was poorly fed. The situation was not good in 2023. About 2.33 billion people faced acute food insecurity in the year. Hunger and food insecurity continuously dominated the main agenda in many poor countries. The food prices remained higher in recent years than they were during 2015-2019.
A battle against food shortage must be taken seriously, because without feeding the hungry mouths, no sustainable development such as education, health, and communication will ever be possible.
It would be a good idea to bring more investment to the rural sector. Let’s not forget that farmers and their livestock always live together. When we talk about the growth of food production, it is never possible without uplifting the condition of the livestock of the farmers.
Human beings and nature always live side by side. In fact, humans are an inseparable part of nature itself. If we respect nature, then nature will reciprocate in the same manner. This bond of love and compassion will certainly lead to development and prosperity.
It intrigues me quite often that when Mother Nature, more or less, has provided so much to all the countries, there are so many hungry people in the world. Every year many children die due to hunger and malnutrition. I think this is because rich countries did not take the matter of hunger quite seriously. If they had taken this issue wholeheartedly, the result would be completely different today. In the meantime, the condition of human rights has been regularly deteriorating. More people are suppressed and exploited in many parts of the world. The world is not acting responsibly as it should have been.
The subject of hunger must not be taken for granted. Those people who have plenty to eat will never understand what hunger is. Can rich people ever understand the agony of the hungry people? Perhaps not, because only a hungry person knows what hunger is. Other people can only talk and show sympathy with the nations marred with hunger.
There are many poor countries in many parts of the world where a sizable number of populations live below the poverty line. For them, managing two meals has become a big thing in their lives. Rich countries have plenty to eat, whereas poor countries do not have enough food to eat and survive.
Why is there this disparity among the people? We are all human beings. No matter which parts of the world we live in, it is the moral responsibility of every rich country to make sure that no people die in poor countries due to hunger.
An agreement should be made between poor countries and rich countries where rich countries should help poor countries by supplying them with technology and financial aid. So, the poor countries will be able to stand on their own feet by growing enough food. Later rich countries can purchase those products from the poor countries. This way a reciprocal arrangement can be made to benefit both the countries.
There are fabulous slogans in support of fighting
against hunger, but until now no concrete action has been taken to eradicate
hunger from the face of the world. Now time has come to take the issue of
hunger more seriously and more honestly.
