Against this backdrop, it is pledged to make the world free from hunger by 2030. The target is certainly a daunting task indeed. However, the irony is that over the years the technology has improved and more land has been brought under the plow, but hunger still persists. According to the latest available data in 2024, about 8.2% of the global population was poorly fed. The situation was not good in 2023.
